British Formula Three Champion Jack Harvey has taken a further step towards his Formula One dream by signing up with Lotus GP for next year’s GP3 Series.
Launched in 2010, the GP3 Series supports the European leg of the FIA Formula One Championship, and is regarded as a key step on the road to the premier class.
Harvey had been testing for Lotus GP in November in Estoril and impressed with his handling of the GP3 car, despite it being his first outing.
"I am looking forward to the challenge of GP3, especially with a team like Lotus GP who has a great history of success in motorsport,” said Harvey.
“We learned a lot during the tests in November and it’s clear that optimizing the performance of the tyres will be very important during the season.”
Jack’s impressive 2012 season, which included seven British F3 wins, has won him a number of accolades, most notably the Guild of Motoring Journalists’ Driver of the Year Award and the Spencer Charrington trophy.
