Toni Bou of Repsol Montesa continued his winning form at the FIM World Trial Championship Grand Prix of Great Britain in Penrith at the weekend, recording his 50th career win to date.
Despite having already sealed the championship title earlier in the month in Italy, Bou put in a great performance to overcome a fall and difficult weather conditions to claim his 11th victory of the year.
Bou typically started strong despite persistent showers, riding without a penalty until the final two hazards when he took a tumble, but it was enough to clinch the first lap.
In the second lap Bou was pushed all the way by Adam Raga, as the Spanish pair matched each other mark for mark during the closing 15 hazards. Raga earned a deserved second place, with James Dabill taking his first ever podium place in third.
This has been a fantastic weekend, and a great way to bring the championship to an end with another double victory, said Bou.
Yesterday was strange, as I had no pressure. Although I won, I was not riding at my best. Today was different, the sections were slightly easier even with the bad weather, and my riding was much better.
Now I can enjoy my holiday. I will go to Mexico and when I return I will begin training so I can be ready for the other competitions we have before the end of the season.
Feliz Viaje, Toni!
