Johann is a back-to-back Moto 2 Champion, and has a 125cc win, 15 Moto2 wins and six premier class podiums, four poles and four fastest laps to his name. Noted for his blistering speed, daring overtakes and aggression, Johann races for the Red Bull KTM team in MotoGP.

Johann Zarco began racing pocket bikes as a child, finishing runner-up in the Europe pocket bike (Junior Mini) series in 2005 and runner-up in the Senior Open category of the European pocket bike series.

Johann then progressed to the Red Bull MotoGP Rookie Cup and became the first (and only) French rider to win this championship, with an impressive record of seven podiums in eight races.

He then switched to Grand Prix racing, competing in the 125cc class, taking his first win in 2011 on his way to second in the overall standings.

In 2012 he made the switch to Moto2, before taking the title in 2015 with eight wins and successfully defending it the following season with another seven victories.

Johann made the jump up to MotoGP in 2017, racing for the Tech 3 Yamaha team and he enjoyed a strong rookie year, taking three podiums, two poles and four fastest laps on his way to sixth in the standings. He added another three podiums and two poles the following season as he again finished sixth overall.
