TY GIBBS HOLDS OFF BLANEY IN OVERTIME FOR FIRST NASCAR CUP SERIES WIN AT BRISTOL

In the NASCAR Cup Series at Bristol Motor Speedway, Alpinestars driver Ty Gibbs held off Ryan Blaney in overtime to score his first career victory, crossing the line just 0.055 seconds ahead in one of the closest finishes in track history.

The win was especially meaningful for the 23-year-old rookie, who grew up watching Kyle Busch compete at the legendary short track near his home and called it an honor and “surreal” to earn his first Cup Series victory there.

Fellow Alpinestars drivers also posted strong results: Ryan Blaney finished second, Chase Briscoe placed fifth, Joey Logano seventh, and Denny Hamlin ninth.
