Anatomically engineered and profiled specifically for youth and younger riders, the all-new SM3 Youth Helmet is optimized for MX, Enduro and Off-road use, and features a whole raft of technologies and innovations taken from Alpinestars range of adult helmets to deliver the optimal blend of performance, protection and comfort.

Ventilation system: 10 inlets and 7 exhaust ports work with the visor airflow path to help move heat out and keep younger riders cooler in demanding off-road sessions.
Hydration tube channels: Integrated routing in the cheek pads keeps hydration setup tidy and accessible for longer motos and enduro rides.
Recycled comfort liner: The comfort liner uses recycled materials to support a lower-carbon design without compromising day-long interior comfort.
Custom fit system: Replaceable crown and cheek pads in multiple thicknesses let the helmet be tuned for a more secure, stable feel as riding conditions and head shape demands change.
Growth-ready sizing: Youth Medium and Youth Large share the same EPS size, so the helmet can be reconfigured as the rider grows with spare crown and cheek pad parts.
Dedicated Youth Small fit: Youth Small uses a smaller EPS size with cheek-pad-only customization to deliver a purpose-built fit for very young riders.

The multiple-density inner liner positions the correct density in the correct area for enhanced impact absorption.
The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts.
Alpinestars patented low-friction coating is applied to the inner part of the main EPS liner to reduce rotational acceleration forces that can result from certain oblique impacts, acting as a slip plane.
The patented visor release system is engineered to release with a pre-determined amount of force to help reduce forces transmitted to the rider’s neck during an impact.
The 25 mm soft textile chin strap provides secure helmet retention.
Separate shell versions are developed for DOT and ECE requirements; the DOT-certified version integrates a composite fiber layer between the outer shell and the EPS liner for maximum impact protection.
The chin area is optimized to meet Alpinestars new in-house safety standard for superior impact performance under conditions exceeding homologation requirements.

Alpinestars has introduced a new in-house standard for the SM3 Youth to test the helmet’s chin against conditions heavier than the homologation standard.
To meet this standard, the shell thickness and helmet structure have been optimized in the chin area, with the design geometry refined for a more robust front section.
The helmet is equipped with an Emergency Release System and removable cheek pads, allowing the cheek pads to be removed safely while the helmet is still on.
3D contoured foam is integrated into the interior assembly for a structured, close-fitting liner layout.
Stainless steel D-rings are used for the retention system.
